SoMD CAN: A Resource for Parents of High School Students

grad-cap-and-books

We are lucky to have an awesome organization here in our area: Southern Maryland College Access Network or SoMD CAN.  Their mission is to increase the college-going rate among the region’s high school students with a specific focus on those students who are first generation college-bound, underserved populations and who are academically talented. Their goals are to offer opportunities through our curriculum-based program to build awareness of and preparedness for the college admissions and financial aid process.

Need more information about Financial Aid for your 11th and 12th grader? SoMD CAN is partnering with CCPS to facilitate Financial Aid Night at local high schools.

Session times are 6:30-8:30pm :
October 24th- Huntingtown High School
November 9th- Patuxent High School

Additionally, SoMD CAN’s website offers

College 101: Part I: Best Fit  and College 101: Part II: How Much Am I Responsible For?
